"I am fortunate to have lived most of my life in, what I believe, is one of the most beautiful areas of the eastern U.S. But I have also been able to spend a lot of my vacation time over the years in beautiful habitats from Maine to Florida gathering reference material for my paintings. Most of my paintings are not about the gorgeous vistas that tourists travel to see, but instead, are more about the places and things that we tend to miss. I would like my paintings to offer the viewer an opportunity to take a visual walk in some of these places and experience a level of interaction that might cause us to slow down, take a longer look, and develop a deeper appreciation for the gifts God has surrounded us with.”
