Many of us have discovered special places in our lives that just seem to heal and renew our spirit. For me, it is a place where I have always felt immersed in God’s artistry. It is a place in the mountains of Northern Pennsylvania called “The Asaph”. We have many wonderful memories of days spent here on picnics and hikes with our children as they were growing up. It seemed like a magical enchanted forest where two mountain streams came together and flowed south through the rocks and trees eventually joining Pine Creek. There are a couple of thousand acres of State Forest Land here and many of my paintings have featured bits and pieces of this beautiful place, such as “Evening Watch”, “Dry Autumn”, and “Tentacles”. However, in this painting, I didn’t try to record anything specific, but instead tried to capture the mood and essence of an “Asaph Morn”.
